At Communicare, our Friendship Centres provide a warm, welcoming space where seniors aged 65 and over can connect, have fun, and feel a true sense of belonging.
Each week, members enjoy a variety of activities including games, crafts, gentle exercise, lively conversation, and a shared meal, all designed to foster joy, friendship, and community spirit. We currently operate 15 Friendship Centres across Auckland, and our sister organisation, North Shore CMA, runs an additional 7 centres on the North Shore, together creating a strong network of support and companionship for seniors |

We are committed to enriching the lives of seniors who are facing loneliness or isolation by fostering meaningful companionship, promoting well-being, and creating spaces where everyone feels valued and supported

What's new
Season Greetings from Communicare
As 2025 draws to a close I would like to firstly thank every person in our Communicare community who has made me feel so very welcome during my visits to your Friendship Centres. Every visit I make reminds me what makes Communicare special – it’s about a smile and everybody’s energy and friendship – so thank you for including me. Many in our communities face tough times, and the role of Erson Avenue is about supporting all of you – whether you are a member, volunteer or co-ordinator – so do let us know if there are ways we can assist or ideas to make things better at Communicare. Finally, I would like to express my appreciation to everyone, and while I could single out things I’ve observed, there is much that is done that is not observed and these ‘anonymous’ or ‘silent’ actions make a real difference to people’s lives – which is awesome - so thank you all.
